Today was a really shitty Monday. It had actually started on Saturday already. It kinda felt like a sinus infection and so when I woke up this morning I did not feel too good. I worked out between 5 and 6 AM and then went to work. I called my doctor at 7.30 AM and they had an appointment open at 8.30 AM. Unfortunately he did not find anything. My blood pressure was a bit on the lower side, but that was about it.
I went back to work and shortly after I was back at the office the power went out. I became freaky hot inside the office really fast. I work in IT (information technology) and our server had lost the AC units. After a while it became too hot and we had to shut things down. Most of the server shut down gracefully, but we lost a few along the way when the systems shutdown due to the heat. We were without Power for about 3 hours and temperatures in the office were easily 100+ degrees.
When the power came back, we brought our servers back up again. The AC units inside the server room worked hard, but cooled the room down fast. Outside of the server rooms things were not so good. The main building AC units were still down.
We had problems bringing one of our virtual server environments back up and after an hour I called the manufacturer tech support. The support engineer was not very experienced and things dragged along. I spend about 4 hours on the phone until things were fixed, but it was a real drag. This long call also took up so much time that I missed my window to work out after work + when I finally left the office it was in the middle of the rush hour. I went home and I was totally worn out.
After having dinner my wife and her friend had her weekly kick-boxing class and she took my son over to her friend so he could play with her son. Suddenly I had a new window to work out. It was still hot outside, but I decided to go for a run. The run finally turned things around and the day ended on a good note. I ran a little over 5 miles at a pretty good pace.
