I’ve been running in Nike Pegasus shoes for most the last 6-7 years. Every once in a while I tried a different running shoe, but I always reverted back to the Nike Pegasus running shoe as the shoe of choice. Last year I started running marathons and with the expanded demands that running marathons comes with I started looking at finding a better running shoe. I tried the Mizuno Wave Rider, but reverted back to the Nike Pegasus after getting hurt from the Mizuno Wave Rider shoe due to the way how the seams were located on top of the shoe. [Read more…]
Is the Mizuno Wave Rider really the right Running Shoe for me? I am not that sure anymore and I am ready to break up with this running shoe even though I just had it for 5 weeks.
A few weeks ago I bought my very first pair of Mizuno Wave Rider 17 running shoes. I had read many positive reviews about the shoe and it seemed to be a great move up from the more basic Nike Pegasus running shoe that I have been using for many years in different versions. While I do have many running shoes, most of them are actually “retired” because they did their job protecting my feet on one of the many runs I do and they simply reached their expected end of life. I have been a big fan of the Nike Pegasus running shoe for many years, but with the 29th incarnation of the Nike Pegasus I was not too happy. It seemed like I just did not get the same mileage from the shoe anymore compared to the older models that I had before. I do not remember, but I think my love affair with the Nike Pegasus running shoe start with model #23. The Nike Pegasus 29 did not make me too happy even though I had a total of 4 or 5 pairs, but as I increased my running last year it became apparent that we have to part ways now. [Read more…]
