It is November 17 and I am in Las Vegas for my very first marathon race ever. I just had a carbo heavy breakfast and for the next few hours I will hydrating a lot and then stop drinking fluids at around noon – right after having another pasta lunch. I will drive to Las Vegas Blvd. and need to find a good parking spot for my car. I’ll be driving down Interstate 70 into Utah today and from there head south straight into Las Vegas, Nevada. Last night I picked up the rental car and then bought a few items at the grocery store. This morning I stopped at Einstein’s Bagels and got some bagels (Honeywheat) with cream cheese for the trip. I also stocked up on Bananas and Powerade for the trip. I got my car charger for my phone and from here on it is just driving. I am excited and anxious. Tomorrow I will be visiting the Health and Fitness Expo to pick up my race bib and the bag for gear check. A more detailed posting will then follow accordingly. Over and Out for today.
Good Wednesday to you. Time is flying and Sunday’s marathon is coming closer. If you have been following my journey you know that it is not yet 100% certain that I can run the marathon which would totally suck. I am fighting an ear infection (yes, an ear infection!) and things have been quite bumpy for the last 9 days. The infection is retreating, but it is taking its sweet time and that just makes me feel so frustrated. I am on the home-stretch of a long and busy 13 week journey to get ready for my first marathon and now this stupid ear infection is threatening to make all the hard work for nothing. [Read more…]
