In February 2014 I reviewed the NIKE Men’s Hyperwarm Dri-FIT Fitted Crew Long-Sleeve Top and this review came back to my mind today. Currently it is 14 degrees outside. It is snowing and there is wind that makes the feel temperatures even colder. I was outside running early this morning and (of course) wore my Nike Hyperwarm Sweater. I came home from my run and never felt cold. As a matter of fact I was sweating quite a bit. I still find it amazing that you can exercise outside in frigid conditions because of having the right outdoor gear and the Nike Hyperwarm Dri-Fit Long Sleeve Top definitely fits that description.
I bought my Nike Hyperwarm sweater last year in December because I had signed up for a half marathon race and the temperatures on race day never made it above 4 degrees. Since then I have been using it on cold days when running outside and it has served me well. What I really like is the fact that it is made from Dri-FIT material and that it leads the sweat away from the body. Usually I combine it with other Nike Dri-FIT clothing and that combination has helped me a lot to stay warm on those days it really mattered. The other benefit that I enjoy is the fact that the hyperwarm clothing does not restrict any movements. Some Winter weather clothing makes you feel stiff and makes it hard to move because the material is not soft enough or very heavy. The Nike Hyperwarm clothing made from Dri-FIT wool does not have that problem and so on my runs in this type of clothing I do not feel any of these issues described.
I checked on Nike’s website to see what other customers were thinking about the Nike Hyperwarm Dr-Fit clothing. Here are some excerpts from real customer reviews:
– The fit is great and its really warm on the cold winter mornings.
– I’m 6’7″ and this fits great – so great, in fact, that I now own several and use them for skiing as well as running. As a base layer, I find it warm but not too warm and it’s very comfortable even after a full day on the slopes. Highly recommended.
– Absolutely great top. Regulates temp and wicks moisture like a dream. Wore it in 10 degree (F) and was still warm.
On Nike’s website are a total of 13 reviews listed. 12 of those are 5 stars and one is a 4 star which make for a total rating of 4.9 stars. I am not surprised to see this high of a rating. Reading the reviews it totally matches my experience and how I feel about the product. Personally I would recommend you try one on in the store and do not order it blindly over the Internet. In addition I have not really seen many sales for any of the Nike Hyperwarm clothing products. The list price for the Nike Hyperwarm Dri-Fit Long Sleeve Top has been $50.00 and the lowest I saw it on sale for at the end of last season was $35.00, but even that sale was very limited. These are very popular products and the retailers know that they do not have to reduce pricing a lot to move the products.
